Making Love by Lucretia Stewart is one of those books that stays with you. It follows a woman who throws herself headlong into love, again and again, even when she knows it probably won't end well. It's honest and a bit raw, and at times quite funny, which makes it easier to read than you might expect given the subject matter. What I liked most is that she doesn't try to make herself look good. The narrator owns her choices, even the bad ones, and there's something refreshing about that. It's part memoir, part love story, part portrait of a era, and it pulls all three off pretty well. If you've ever stayed in something too long because leaving felt harder than hoping, you'll recognise yourself somewhere in these pages. A really good pick for discussion. Lots to talk about.
